This little video will show you one of the most common training elements we like to address when working with any horse. It can be something that pops up with a green unstarted horse (like you will see in the following video) or it can pop up with an older ridden horse. Most commonly it’s a huge issue for problem horses – bucking, rearing, pigrooting, shying and bolting etc. This little horse has been well halter broken, leads, ties, floats, picks up feet but you will see he’s not as comfortable being touched all over on the right side of his body as he is the left. This is really common as most people tend to do most things from the left so it’s an “issue” for want of a better word that can very easily occur organically over time. There are SOOO many ways you can help a horse become equally comfortable on both sides of their body but I’m just going to show you something really simple you can try at home, firstly to assess if this is an issue for your horse and how you can go about helping them through it.
